Anna’s Story – Kisa Bead Ambassador

I initially got involved with Resource Uganda in 2011, when I went out with a small team from the UK for a month during my summer break from Uni. It was a great privilege to spend time getting to know the community in Kisenyi and to be involved in supporting them practically through kids clubs, women bible studies, the women’s jewellery making business and Sunday clubs. It is an even greater privilege to be able to continue to support these incredible people, their families and their communities as they continue on their journeys.

When I came back from Uganda, I wanted to continue to support the work of Resource Uganda and that’s when I became a Bead Ambassador. Through selling the women’s handcrafted jewellery, it has been great to have many opportunities to share their stories and how God has worked and continues to work in their lives. Recently I felt God calling me to become more involved, so when the opportunity to join the Resource Uganda team came up, I knew it was right.

God has given me a heart for the people of Uganda and it is so exciting to be on such a passionate team who are committed to working to see God’s Kingdom grow in Uganda. There are so many things that we take for granted in life, such as a church, food, a home, family, friendships and money. In many of the rural Ugandan communities, there is great poverty and great darkness and many of the things that we take for granted are missing. With God’s love and your help, we can help to change this; change lives and build up the Church in rural Ugandan communities.

Have you felt God calling you to reach out to His people? Are you interested in seeing the stories we share in real life? If this is you, please get in touch! We would love to hear from you and there are many ways in which you can get involved. Practically, you could donate to the work of Resource Uganda, by making a one off donation or giving regularly. A little can go a long way and a little can make a huge difference to the lives of one family or more. Another way you could help practically is by supporting the women’s jewellery making business – you could sign up to be a U.K. bead ambassador. This is a wonderful way of not only sharing and selling the women’s colourful creations but also sharing their stories. We are a team committed to working through God’s strength and grace to build the church in rural Uganda and we would love to see our UK team grow, so if you want to get involved, please get in touch now.
